The summers nearly over and the last few flowers and vegetables are starting their final crop of the year, before the frosty mornings and cold evenings begin. From rippling raspberries, crunchy crab apples, and mountains of moorish marrows our vegetable garden has been better than ever this year. Which allows mum and I to make endless amounts of homemade goodies to feed the family & stock the pantry for the upcoming months.
We've even had trouble with our little lambs escaping the fields and entering the garden eating all the scrumptious runner beans, leaving only a few left to flower. However the great yields of homegrown goods this year has allowed me to really get going with homemade dishes over the summer, as well as making some unique jams, gins, vodkas & chutneys for the store.
In other new this summer my brother Will has had a great show season with our pedigree Hereford cattle, winning a number of shows around the county with our prize bull Normanton 1 Laertes, including the Royal Welsh, Royal Highland and the National Polled Show to name a few.
Keep an eye out over the upcoming weeks for some truly delicious recipes homemade & homegrown from scratch.
